9 months old!

I'm fully aware that I'm a slacker and haven't updated Kaden's blog in FOREVER and I apologize. I promise to do better from here on out.
Kaden is now 9 months old (well, he will be tomorrow). The past 9 months have flown by, he's growing up WAY too fast but we love each new stage he goes through. He's mastered the art of crawling and will be walking before we know it. He cruises all over along the furniture and loves to pull up at the window and beat on it while looking outside. He loved looking out the window for trick-or-treaters last weekend and was too cute when he was doing so.
A lot has happened since the last update. I completed 2 semesters of classes and a clinical. I started another clinical last week and I absolutely love it so far. Kaden goes to daycare about a mile from our house, so that's pretty convenient. Joe's been at Burns and McDonnell for 10 months now and still enjoys it.
We joined a small group through our church and enjoy meeting with families with small children each Sunday evening. We're finally making some friends in the Wright City area, which I'm excited about. Joe's content sitting at home, relaxing and playing video games but I like meeting new people.
We visited a local pumpkin patch a few weekends ago and it was awesome! Kaden really enjoyed it as well.

While we were there, we picked out pumpkins to carve. We had a good time carving them together. I'd never carved a pumpkin before.

Kaden had two costumes for halloween-a cowboy and a bumblebee. He wore the cowboy outfit to Walmart that day and then to church the next Sunday. He wore the bee costume to the three houses we went to for trick or treating and for handing out candy at home. We had around 250 kids come to our house which was awesome! I was so excited because in Jeff City we never had more than 4!

I know there's a ton more to update on, including our trip to Florida this summer and tons of pictures. That's all I had time to throw together during Kaden's morning nap, it's time to go get us both ready for the day!

Spring Break is Over?!

Kaden has had a busy couple of weeks! School started the week before last. He seems to enjoy going to college (He's so smart he skipped all pre-requisites and is an early-admit to the Physical Therapy program-haha. Seriously though, he does well with everyone watching him and does pretty well with the hour car ride each day. That Friday his grandma Lisa came and watched him while I went to class. She was even able to vacuum, clean and do some laundry, which was great since I never can seem to get any of that done.

Then that weekend we went to Granite for Bradley's birthday get-together where Kaden got to meet more people that he hadn't met before. It was a good day, long, but good.

This past week was Spring Break for us and it was a much needed break (after only a week of school-ha!) We spent one day in Bland, went to Columbia one day (even got to have lunch with JaiLynn and Kat!) and tried to relax a little. Both Kaden and mommy are fighting colds/allergies so that hasn't been fun, but hopefully they'll both be better soon! Okay, now for some pics!

His hair on top has all fallen out (the baby hair), so we do a mock comb-over (from the back). Here's a picture of his alfalfa following a nap.

Such a big seat for such a little man!

Amy, Luke (Kaden's cousin), Grandpa Matt and Kaden.

Some tummy time with Daddy!
Sadly, he's outgrown a lot of his newborn clothes :(. Here's a 0-3 month outfit.
Whoa, who taught him to do that?!

Kaden is a Blues fan just like his daddy!
His first trip to the park.
He enjoyed it-even though this picture doesn't look like it.
St. Patrick's Day oufit-Baby's 1st St. Patrick's Day.
Baby and mommy both exhausted after a long week of school.
Meeting Uncle Tommy for the first time.
GG with two of her three great grandsons.
I think Zoey was afraid we were going to leave her-she decided laying in his diaper bag, on his car seat was a guarentee that we would not.
A picture with his Great Grandparents Crull.
Not only do they look like-but they dress alike too?
Daddy built him his first snowman!
By the time he woke up from his nap, the snowman's mouth (Sixlets) had melted...
First week of school-mommy learns to multi-task.

Until next time....

Meeting People and Beautiful Weather

We made our first weekend trip to Bland this weekend and Kaden got to meet lots of people. We didn't get pictures of everyone he met, but here are the ones we did get!

Great Grandma Lorraine

Uncle Terry and Aunt Jennifer

Betty and Wilber

Art

He also got to visit some people he'd seen before!

Grandma and Grandpa Crull

G.G.

We also took a "generation" picture.

and lastly, two pictures of our little man. In the 2nd one, he's showing off his name on his pacifier.

I've been fighting a head cold this week-that's my excuse for not having these posted sooner. Today, the weather was beautiful outside, so me, Zoey and Kaden went for a walk around the subdivision-we hope to be able to do this more often providing the weather cooperates.

Lots of Pictures

Two bits of good news first-
1. Kaden nursed without the shield yesterday and has done so every feeding since then! Yay for breastfeeding going much better than it was! He's being a little "hog-jaws" (His daddy gave him that nickname) lately, but I'm pretty sure he's going through his 2 week growth spurt. He's changing so much every day.
2. I wore a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans the other night out to dinner-YAY! Hopefully the pounds keep falling off.
Now for the pics. I've become a little picture obsessive-everything he does makes me grab the camera and try to snap a quick picture.

In his bili-bed. Thank God he only had to be in it for 24 hours.
Zoey was being his guard dog.
Ahh....this is the life!
He doesn't look too happy.
Peering-he does this a LOT. Is it worth opening both eyes to see what's going on?

Zoey's getting used to him-she's even starting to kinda like him.
Mommy and the little man.
Showing off a cute outfit.

He is definitely his daddy's mini-me.
First trip to Olive Garden!
Funny faces.
Daddy and his little man.
He's prepared for the cold weather with his snowmen hat and booties.

Hanging out in the swing.
Up close.
Getting ready for a diaper change (definitely not his favorite time)
I see eyeballs!
With the only pacifier he likes (which is depressing-he won't take his personalized ones and they're SO cute!)
